The Official Black Lives Matter Memphis Chapter is participating in the second Mama’s Day Bailout with the Memphis Community Bail Fund as a part of the National Bail Out Collective. We are raising funds to help cover the cost of bail and continue to raise awareness about the issues that currently exist with the money bail system and the impact of bail on mothers, caregivers, and families.
It is estimated that an average of 700,000 people are separated from their families and condemned to jail simply because they cannot afford to pay bail. These people have not been convicted of a crime. This is an opportunity to draw attention to the huge injustice of the money bail system and help create the world we want to live in. Donate now to EndMoneyBail and help us get black mama’s out of jail. You can donate at memphiscommunitybailfund.com
Do you know a black woman or femme who is in jail right now because they cannot afford to pay for bail? Hit us up at blacklivesmattermemphis@gmail.com or call us at 901.468.4398.
